This might not be the best sub for advice on the matter, but here goes. I live in Fairfax and have a neighbor who is feeding wildlife daily. The neighbor gives cheese, meat, sandwiches, and fast food to foxes, crows, vultures, and anything else that will come around. It has gotten to the point where animals show up each morning and await the meal. They are hand fed at times. As a result, the animals sometimes carry the food onto my property to eat it. More and more animal droppings are found at various points around my home and I am left to clean it up. I now have to limit my dog's outdoor activities to prevent the dog from picking up diseases and parasites. The neighbor's actions also has thrown the natural order of things out of balance and I have noticed an increase in field mice in and around my home since their normal predators are not as motivated. I believe the neighbor has violated 4VAC15-40-286. Unauthorized feeding of wildlife. IS this something that DWR officers take seriously?Suprimir
