Opinions on a first timers starter kit (Sprint Tri)

First time ANY racer here. I have an extensive sports and athletic background, my strengths are swimming and cycling, but running is not my best. I’m doing a SPRINT in July. I don’t wanna break the bank, and ideally I wear just one thing the whole time. The swim is lap swim, it’s a bike and run in my city’s park (Fairmount) so very familiar to me. Everything’s amazon, the sneakers I like, I don’t wanna spend a shit ton of money because I’m not really a run lover, but I do want to bouncy effect. I have the rest of the gear I need, polarized goggles, caps, I do have a running vest I’m considering using as well for water storage. I’ll use bombas socks. For my bike, I have two bikes. A Fuji mountain bike which is my baby, I’ve had that bike since my early 20s and it’s beautiful, comfortable, and well maintained. I can ride it for miles and miles. But it’s a mountain bike, so a bit clunkier, and I’m nervous I’ll be slow. I do have a road bike, a Trek. It’s much older line 10-15+ years old. It’s in great condition and it rides nice, I’ve been told, but I’m always too scared to ride it!! Of course everyone I see cycling seriously has a road bike and I’m sure there’s an appeal? Maybe faster. I just feel so nervous on it, it’s so thin and my balance is all weird. So I’m wondering should I train on it and see if I can get comfortable enough to use it, or stick with my tried and true even if it slows me down? I am most worried about the gear honestly. I’m not really worried about the physical aspect, I’m only doing a 300m swim and 20k bike, which for me will be straightforward as hell. The run will kick my ass but I’ll push through!! But I’ve never done a race. I don’t have an apple watch or anything like that. I’ve never used a “goo” or anything other than water when I train. So I feel super out of the loop. I’ve never ever seen anyone DO a race so I have no clue what to expect, I’m just winging it! Any help is appreciated! Love learning from this community. Thoughts, opinions, advice? I’m really excited ! Thank you for reading this far :)

Hey everyone, I’m trying to decide between the **Buick Envista ST** and the **Mazda CX-5** for my next car lease (36 months). I know leasing isn’t ideal, and I’d prefer an electric car or to buy preowned, but due to my current circumstances, leasing is the only option for me. (For context, there are only two 50kW chargers in my entire town, so going electric isn’t practical right now either.) I test-drove both cars and am still conflicted. Here’s my breakdown: **Buick Envista ST** – I love how it looks, but it’s the smaller of the two with the smallest engine, yet it’s the most expensive. The pedals also felt heavy, which I didn’t love. **Mazda CX-5** – Gets a lot of praise online, and I liked its premium feel, larger engine, and AWD. However, it lacks a HUD display (which I’m used to), has a smaller screen, and I didn’t love the brakes during my short test drive (though it was barely a mile, so I didn’t get a proper feel for it). Pricing is comparable across both, and I could likely negotiate them to match. Given my mix of bumper-to-bumper traffic and highway driving, **which would you choose and why?** Any input is appreciated!

BCH311 Advice Appreciated Content Memorization and Practice

Hi, Second year student taking 5 courses + BCH311 required for major. I am struggling in the course in terms of content intake and staying on top of it. Lectures arent recorded and Prof. A's teaching style doesn't suit me. Though the prof changed now, The first three lectures and their content don't stay in my head and I'm really struggling. Would love some advice on how to stay on top of BCH. For reference, I enjoyed BCH210 and got a 4.0 in the course. For some reason, everything we learn in this course feel so foreign. Maybe its my mindset that most students here are third years but I've taken many third year courses before so I'm not too sure.

Talking to my ex again..

We hadnt talked since August. He reached out to me around the end of december. He wanted to talk to me about trying again and how much he missed me as a person and all that jazz. I know he has a good heart and I’d like to think he came from a good place. I gave it some time to think and I decided it’d be best to just keep texting and see if it’s going in the right direction. We go to different schools so long distance is a factor. Also he just joined a frat It’s been pretty normal, we text everyday and I enjoy our conversations for the most part bc they remain light. But as of a couple days ago I’ve been starting to have an uneasy feeling about it. I don’t know if it’s my brain trying to protect me, or if I should actually leave.
